Lessons With Jamie Humphries

Watch as he goes over guitar parts from Bryan Adams and Joe Satriani using AmpliTube 5

Veteran guitarist and educator Jamie Humphries works a lot with AmpliTube 5 and is a big contributor to ToneNET. Recently he posted two video lessons examining the work of Keith Scott, the guitarist for Bryan Adams, and Joe Satriani.

I'm using IK Multimedia's AmpliTube 5. I programmed 200 presets for IK's ToneNET tone-sharing website and community. If you're an IK Multimedia user, head on over to ToneNET.

"In today's lesson, we break down the riff and solo from the classic 1984 track "Run To You" by Bryan Adams from his iconic album "Reckless." In this video, we look at parts performed by both Bryan and his long-time guitarist Keith Scott. We also discuss the tone, which is available to download from the IK Multimedia Tone.NET website."

"In this video, we take a look at the third "in the style" of Joe Satriani piece I put together for a four mini track feature in issue 335 of Guitar Techniques magazine. The track in this video focuses on Joe's use of Exotic scales and how he negotiates through non-diatonic modes, as well as making use of odd time signatures.

I also discuss my Ibanez JS 2410, and how I achieved an authentic Joe Satriani tone using both the JS and IK Multimedia AmpliTube Joe Satriani.
