Foo Fighters engineer Oliver Roman recently shared his experience using ARC Studio while recording with Barefoot monitors in the band's garage studio.
I'm so happy I used ARC Studio with the Barefoots! I had tried it in a couple of other rooms, and it really made a difference.
"The garage studio that the band (Foo Fighters) decided to record in had a massive bump of about 12 dB at 150 Hz and 8 dB at 50 Hz and 30 Hz, making every drum kit that we put there sound MASSIVE, but then small everywhere else I listened.
"Once I installed ARC Studio and the software, I was able to adjust the tones to be closer to what we liked about how the room sounded. Which I'm so glad we did at the beginning of recording!
"Arc Studio makes decision-making while recording so much easier. I've spent so many years getting a mix sounding great in one room, and then when you walk into another space or your car, it sounds different."
I can commit to a sound while recording and know that wherever else I take it, it will translate! And for the price point, you really can't beat it.
By combining ARC X room-correction software, a precision-measurement microphone, and a standalone hardware correction processor, ARC Studio helped Roman make confident recording decisions from the start of the project, ensuring that sounds translated more consistently wherever they were played back.
