Sophie Burrell Nails It

Hear her use AmpliTube X-GEAR on “The Number of the Beast” by Iron Maiden

Sophie Burrell performs "The Number of the Beast" by Iron Maiden using AmpliTube X-GEAR pedals. In the video, she describes how she gets the right tone for the song using a combination of X-TIME, X-DRIVE and X-VIBE, which she kicks on during the solo. She demos her sound with and without the pedals to give you an idea of what each one adds.

I wanted something functional, but sounding really good. I always make my signal wet. I love to lay in reverb so I was using the digital delay setting on the X-TIME. This was super easy to set up.

"For the X-DRIVE, I decided to use the modern setting for this. I thought that particular drive sounded the most suitable for this cover.

"When it comes down to the X-VIBE modulation, I actually used this on the solo. I introduced a little bit of chorus and it really helped to add more color to the tone and differentiate it between that and the rhythm tone.

All of the pedals have a bunch of presets already built-in, so if you're someone whole doesn't like to wait and just wants to get some cool tones and effects, then no worries. They've got you covered.

"Another really cool thing is that all of these units double as interfaces. I think that's really cool. The fact that you can use your pedal as an interface blows my mind a little bit. It's pretty awesome."
